[WATCH] Basement Revolver – “Baby”

Damn you, Chrisy Hurn! She’s done it again!

Three thoughts ran through my mind while watching Basement Revolver’s new video for tearjerker “Baby.”

1. I can relate to this on so many levels and why haven’t I let my boyfriend listen to this song?

2. This is so raw and honest and why haven’t others caught on?

3. If I want to have a solo singalong in a car, always pop the hood to find a microphone. Got it!

Taken from the band’s cathartic debut, Heavy Eyes, released last month, “Baby” is the opener of your dreams while its accompanying video is twice as striking. A diary-like admission to someone you love about feelings of depression and anxiety, “Baby” is what we’ve all wanted to tell loved ones but could never find the words.

“I feel a lot of emotions, sometimes annoyingly so. ‘Baby’ is about feeling sad and down even though you are generally happy about everything and everyone in your life,” shared Hurn. “It’s about feeling confused about what I want in life, and how that affects other people. It is about crying a lot and feeling like I was burdening my partner with questions and not wanting him to feel like he was the source of my anxiety. It is also about my tendency to retreat when things get too overwhelming, to spend all day and night in my bed and watching Netflix and eating Doritos.”
