[Pick Of The Week] lovelytheband – “loneliness for love”

A new era of lovelytheband is upon us and our excitement is turned all the way up. Not sorry about it.

The alt-pop band’s new single, “loneliness for love,” takes on a more synth-driven sound than the band’s previous material so needless to say, we are SO down for this! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, this one will have lovers and anti-lovers obsessed in no time.

The track’s accompanying video just might as well be called Mitchy & The Real Girl – considering it mirrors the 2007 Ryan Gosling flick, Lars and The Real Girl – portraying singer Mitchy Collins searching for love and human connection with a mannequin while panning off to scenes of the band performing in a storefront window. We wouldn’t oblige to a pop up show in this manner. Just saying.. 😉

“loneliness for love” is set to be featured on the band’s forthcoming sophomore record, out later this year.

“[The song] is about my constant struggle and cycle of doing that exact thing: mistaking loneliness for love,” singer Mitchy Collins shared with PEOPLE. “I look to others to fill the holes I see in myself … I’m working on that.”
