[PREMIERE] Missing Words – “Like A Shadow”

Missing Words have always been top notch in the electronic/synth-wave realm, and their newest release, “Like a Shadow” only proves that notion in our book. The topic of mental health has been at the forefront of news headlines recently. As the pandemic continues to rage on, tensions are running high, and justifiably so. “Like a Shadow” delves into facing one’s demons head on while the guilt and shame come at you from all sides.

The track’s accompanying video – directed by Tyler Carin – which we are so excited to premiere today, is a haunting depiction of one’s spiral and the push/pull of the weight of turning things around when there’s a war raging in your mind.

“‘Like a Shadow’ was written within the first few months of the start of the pandemic,” shared singer James Meays. “I wrote this song with my brother Jameson who played guitar on this track. It’s about how most of us felt alone, isolated, and  ‘like a shadow’ amongst others. The main meaning of the song is dealing with ones vices and facing your demons. This is the first single off the forthcoming EP.”
