[Pick Of The Week] Kelsea Ballerini – “the other girl” feat. Halsey

I have a soft spot for country queen, Kelsea Ballerini. Along with sharing the same birthday, her empowering track, “Miss Me More,” has been on constant playlist rotation since I fell in love with it a few months ago.  The singer unleashed her third record, Kelsea, today and if you’ve been following along, you’re probably just as in love with her friendship with Halsey as we are. We had a feeling a collaboration would happen someday and we are so excited that day has finally come!

“the other girl” takes on a whole other dimension for Ballerini as she explores the pop realm with trusted companion, Halsey. Diving into insecurities within a relationship, the track is a direct expression of confusion, pain, jealously, and the madness that goes on in one’s mind when they suspect their partner is cheating.

Effortlessly blending their angelic vocals together to form an anthem for women everywhere who have been scorned, “the other girl” must be cherished at all costs and played on repeat. Let’s hope there’s more where this came from!

“…everything you wear fits you just right. I bet you drink martinis dry and never let him see you cry. I bet you’re more promiscuous than I. I bet you’re bold, I bet that’s why you seem to occupy his mind. I bet you’re smart but do you know about me?”
