[Pick Of The Week] Cannons – “Purple Sun”

LA electro-pop trio, Cannons, hold a special place in our hearts here at TDL as they were one of the first bands we ever covered on the day we launched. It’s been quite a ride since then for the band, comprised of Michelle Joy, Ryan Clapham, and Paul Davis. They’ve caught fire on the charts with their aptly-titled track “Fire For You” and have been on a steady climb ever since. Two albums and EPs later, the band are set to release their best work to date on their upcoming album, Fever Dream, due out this spring via Columbia Records!

Following the glorious releases of “Bad Dream” and “Ruthless,” the trio have unveiled new track, “Purple Sun” and it has breezy, summer vibes written all over it! Building off of their signature sexy “future boogie” aesthetics, “Purple Sun” transports listeners to that place in their minds where they’re with their dream person and the weight of the world ceases to exist.

“‘Purple Sun’ is a song that transports you into a warm, lighthearted world where reality and dreamworld intertwine, sparking the desire to love and enjoy the moment fearlessly,” shared Joy.
