[Pick Of The Week] Honestly – “Fault”

We didn’t have to wait long for some new music from our boys, Honestly! After their previous release, “< Lovers,” the band recently teased fans with new material on social media, and needless to say we were smitten with the new track instantly.

The indie-pop duo are set to re-release their stunning debut album, Inside Your Eyes, Without You Beside Me, with an extended version on July 9. New offering, “Fault,” will have you in tears way before the chorus hits, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Told from the perspective of the heartbreaker, “Fault” delves into how both sides of the coin can be painful as tales of self-induced heartache come into play, along with the many other factors that deal with a connection that is doomed from the start. The track’s accompanying video – directed by Stephen Cwiok – showcases that hurt with singer Eric Canto falling at his feet at every turn, with buddy and bandmate Dalton Winters coming to the rescue every time. Grab some tissues, folks!

“This is the song that means the most to me on the record,” shared singer Eric Canto. “Much like how the band started, this song was written during a time where one of us was at an emotional low. I remember coming to the studio so sad with only lyrics and a chord progression— just singing it live in front of Dalton. The song was built start to finish in a matter of hours that same night and I knew we had something special.
