[Pick Of The Week] flor – “Play Along”

Hood River, OR alt-pop band, flor, have made their glorious return with new track, “Play Along,” and we couldn’t be more excited!

“Play Along” marks the band’s return to music since 2020’s standalone track, “lmho” and will be featured on their forthcoming third album due out later this year via Fueled By Ramen.

Opening with a bang, “Play Along” invokes a Passion Pit meets early COIN vibe as singer Zach Grace delves into the pains of growing up and leaving adolescence behind…but not by choice. When it’s often hard to get back to who you once were while figuring out who you want to be, it’s easy to get caught up in a shame spiral. “Play Along” speaks to the inner child in all of us, inspiring us to let loose and have a little fun.

“I was trying to be as honest as possible. I was out of touch with who I want to be,” shared Grace. “Throughout the pandemic, I asked myself, ‘Why can’t I get back to living it up like a goofy high schooler?’ I was remembering the happiest times of my life when I was playing games in the yard and running around with my friends in the summer. It captured that young energy, nostalgia, and wild desire.”

flor is set to hit the road with The Band CAMINO next month! Tickets and dates can be found here.
