[LISTEN] Juliana Madrid – “Afterlife”

Dallas singer-songwriter, Juliana Madrid, first dazzled listeners about a year ago with her stunning debut single, “Madonna.” After a slew of killer single releases culminating into her self-titled debut EP released last summer, Madrid has been crafting her sophomore EP – due out later this year via Neon Gold Records – and first taste, “Afterlife,” is a real treat!

Returning with a more expansive, poignant sound, “Afterlife” touches on flirting with the existential while finding ways to accept the things we cannot control, especially when our minds are prone to spiraling.

In ‘Afterlife,’ I am sort of flirting with the universe in hopes of getting more time. I’m often living in my own head, so I tend to get into these ruts where it feels like I’ve been putting my energy towards the wrong thing or not working hard enough or not using my time to my best advantage,” shared Madrid. “Throughout the song, I attempt to understand these thoughts and try my best to find a middle ground with my own fears.”
