Pop/rock sibling trio, Echosmith, are no strangers to the negative forces of social media. However, they’ve always been a beacon of light in a world where pixelated versions of people seem like the norm and kindness can often feel like a foreign concept when hiding behind a screen.
In new track, “Lonely Generation,” the band delves into what technology has done to our society as we disconnect by connecting to WiFi while shielding ourselves off to meaningful relationships and most of the real world. Sonically, the track is a classic Echosmith eighties-inspired dream while lyrically packing a punch with a dose of reality.
“Lonely Generation” is the band’s first release since going independent with their own label, Echosmith Music, created in 2018, and it is sure to be a wild ride with many more releases to come!
“Social media has the power to connect us in such a crazy way, but it also can create a real sense of loneliness. This song came from the heart, for our generation,” shared frontwoman Sydney Sierota.
