[LISTEN] Against The Current Share Two New Tracks, “Strangers Again” & “Almost Forgot”

It has been nearly two years since Against The Current’s debut album In Our Bones saw the light. The Poughkeepsie, NY trio has been busy touring the world ever since – just coming off an EU run with Fall Out Boy as most recent – and somehow also managed to create new material as well. Call that productive work flow!

Today, ATC surprised us with two new songs, “Strangers Again” and “Almost Forgot,” following the recent announcement of a European tour in the fall, on sale now.

“Strangers Again” represents the familiar electronic music elements we learned to love from the band. With the melancholic undertone of letting go of someone, the song still delivers the energy of a pop tune. It takes a few listens to get familiar with but it’s worth it in the end.

“Almost Forgot” is about how we tend to overlook things when others hurt us but we eventually learn from it in the end. Musically, it takes on some tropical/dance dynamics, which is not too much of a personal preference but the direction works with the lyrics – although hopefully we get to hear more guitar-based material as well in the coming months.
