[Song Of The Day] The Bad Dreamers – “California Winter”

There are many bands out there that give off some serious John Hughes vibes, but no one has dazzled us quite like LA’s The Bad Dreamers. The project of Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer, and filmmaker David Schuler, The Bad Dreamers formed during a quest for music for his new short film, The Offer. Soon after, a new project was born inspired by 80’s greats such as Tears For Fears, Depeche Mode, Prince & more. Needless to say, we are here for this one!

Lead single “California Winter” from The Bad Dreamers’ debut LP, Songs About People Including Myself, out October 25, is a classic Tears For Fears-esque 80’s love anthem featuring a killer synthwave meets indie-pop vibe.

“California Winter is probably my favorite song on the album. I wrote it last December (2017). The song represents the feeling of losing something you may have never even had. It’s a strange time of year to be living in Los Angeles; the city assumes a strange kind of ‘calm’ and it’s the only time of year that I get the sense that anyone actually leaves,” Schuler shared with EARMILK.
