Emerging alternative artist, AT*LAST – led by singer/songwriter Daniel Davis – has unveiled debut single, “Simple,” that we are honored to premiere today. You might remember Davis as frontman for indie/pop project, MONACO.
Drawing inspiration from the golden era of 2000’s pop/rock and alternative, “Simple” is a modern throwback to Third Eye Blind, Vertical Horizon and a little bit of present day The Band CAMINO vibes!
The track comes packed with a strong message. As Davis does not shy away from his faith, “Simple” is more than a song — it’s a declaration. After a harrowing health scare earlier this year, Davis faced a life-altering and eye-opening moment, catalyzing introspection and creative honesty.
“That experience really causes you to come to grips with your mortality and what’s most important to you. You have a decision to make… either I really believe in what I claim to believe, or I don’t. Like anyone, the thought crosses your mind, ‘Are you willing to stake your life on this? Do you mean what you say? What kind of legacy do you want to leave?’ For me, it was simple. Jesus gave His life for mine. The least I can do is live for Him. He’s never let me down. And even when people have failed me, or when I’ve failed… His grace and forgiveness is there to help me get back up with a strength I can’t find on my own. Sometimes we overthink things… when with Jesus, it’s simple. He says ‘Follow me.’”
