[Pick Of The Week] LIGHTS – “Lost Girls”

Today marks a new era in the realm of LIGHTS. Not only is the singer finally releasing her Skin & Earth Acoustic album on July 12, featuring our Pick Of The Week, “Lost Girls,” but she has announced that she has signed with Fueled By Ramen and we couldn’t be happier! Honestly though, this partnership was bound to happen. Now LIGHTS will be among friends and TDL favorites like flor and Twenty One Pilots.

Skin & Earth Acoustic looks to be by far the singer’s best acoustic effort yet. Completely produced and mixed by LIGHTS herself, the singer went above and beyond for this release to make it feel as authentic as the Skin & Earth comic by recording it in settings corresponding to their chapters in the comics! Mother Nature can be heard making some appearances as well. Yes folks, she’s not playing around.

A song & visual (filmed by husband/blessthefall frontman Beau Bokan) is set to be released every second Tuesday of the month leading up to the album’s July 12 release, starting with “Lost Girls” – one of three brand new tracks featured. “It took a year to find and track in the right spots, that is why she took so long to get right. Beau filmed, I tracked, it was intense, beautiful and rad,” the singer shared on Twitter. LIGHTS will also be embarking on an acoustic tour this summer to celebrate the album release. Dates here.

“To every girl told she wasn’t enough. Or she was too much. That she was too proud, or too insecure. Too square, too slutty. Too butch or too pussy. Too “maybe stop eating”, too “eAt a BuRgEr”. Too ugly, too made up. To every woman who spent her life thinking she was lost. Now here we sit, on top a mad world, a lil bruised from years of being told we couldn’t get it right, now here we sit, behind the wheel of the vehicle that used to drive by screaming all these things we should be, now here we sit, finally proud that we were lost girls all along.”
