[Pick Of The Week] Juliper Sky – “Infinite Jets”

If you’re as in love with Manchester indie/shoegaze outfit, Juliper Sky, as we are, you’re going to be over the moon about their newest track! Following the release of their stunning debut EP, Visions of a New Age, the band are more eager than ever to unleash what they’ve had up their sleeves this entire time. If you thought you knew what they were about, get ready to have your entire perspective altered…in the best way possible, of course.

While “Infinite Jets” stays true to their roots, there’s no denying that they’ve gravitated towards more luscious reverb-soaked guitars and washed out synths. In other words: if they could bottle up their sound and turn it into an anti-anxiety drug, we’d all be floating on a cloud of bliss without a care in the world right now.

In the midst of this crazy pandemic, let “Infinite Jets” speak to you as it calms you. With bands like these around, what’s going on out there can’t break us.

“I just wanted to create something that had the balls of a rock track but without all the typical traits of a rock track,” shared singer Jamie Lambert. “I feel as though our Manchester roots and the musical heritage we have has subconsciously crept through with the opening riff of the tune. The lyrics are intentionally vague but I believe it’s about a person trying to escape old habits and desires but is failing to do so, ending up in a vicious cycle. The somber tone is disguised with some trippy and colourful phrasing though.”
