[Pick Of The Week] Failure – “The Air’s On Fire”

Los Angeles trio, Failure, have announced the release of their seventh studio album, Location Lost, due out on April 24 and lead single, “The Air’s On Fire” is only a testament to the band’s influence throughout the years.

Recorded after the completion of the recent Hulu/Disney+ documentary, Every Time You Lose Your Mind, the new LP sees the band taking on new territory and “The Air’s On Fire” dives into that notion effortlessly. Written after singer Ken Andrews suffered a serious back injury, the track delves into medial trauma and the disorientation that comes with it.

That song is directly about my surgery and waking up,” he explains. “I basically coded. Everything was spinning. I kept saying, ‘Turn the air on. I’m fine—just take me home.’ I was definitely not fine.”
