[Pick Of The Week] Cyrano – “Collateral”

We didn’t have to wait long for new music from our favorite emerging artist, Cyrano. The singer first dazzled us earlier this year with debut single, “White Wine,” and again this past summer with “Tundra.” Now, the Scottish-born London-grown artist/producer has unveiled new track, “Collateral,” and it is a stunner for sure!

Perfect for those epic night drives or rainy nights in, “Collateral” was inspired by Jai Paul’s “Str8 Outta Mumbai” and Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club. The track is the second single set to be featured on the singer’s forthcoming debut EP, Consolations. Haunting and rather chill-inducing, this one just might be his best release yet.

“’Collateral’ has always felt like one big epiphany to me,” shared the singer. “Like Fight Club, the lyrics are meant to be a shared conversation with both a lover and with myself. It’s about those feelings of reliance and dependency on someone else, while striving for independence and autonomy over oneself. I wanted to personify those parallels in the structure, moving from verse – chorus to chorus – verse, and ending with a moment of self-actualisation.”
