[LISTEN] margø – “too much”

Alt-pop queen, margø, has returned to gift us yet another empowering anthem, “too much,” released via CloudKid. While most of the singer’s tracks pack a punch, this one really hits home for those struggling with self-love and acceptance.

Pulsing with energy and the singer’s signature R&B-inspired vocal stylings, “too much” captures the essence of being hard on yourself and the mental health implications that come with it set to a soundtrack of fuzzy bass lines and experimental hooks.

“‘too much’ is about being unnecessarily hard on yourself. Around the time I wrote this song I was really struggling with social media – and the way it made me compare my self-image and my life to the perfectly curated lives of others. I realized that I was overthinking and putting too much pressure on myself to achieve an impossible standard that social media promotes. This song is a reminder that it’s okay to have imperfections, it’s normal to not always have it all together, and most importantly – a reminder to be kind to yourself”
