Indie-pop artist, Javi Jimenez, has returned with new single, “Second Wind” – the title track off of his upcoming debut album, out on October 24.
A play on pushing the limits between cockiness, charm and some fierce tenacity, “Second Wind” is an anthem for artists everywhere, especially in the music industry where determination & talent often get trampled by statistics and social media clout. Either way, Jimenez is up for a challenge, inspiring others to follow suit.
“My favorite song off the album, this title track wears the name proudly, as it represents my state of mind getting back into the rhythm of releasing music as a DIY independent artist,” shares Jimenez. “I got to communicate my competitive side and embrace a certain naive confidence and unyielding will to push forward which, I feel, is very characteristic of who I am as a person in every aspect of my life. It was fun to exaggerate and kind of create an arrogant persona for this song… someone who can’t even conceive of ever failing is just so funny, charming and absurdly contagious to me. I’ve also been watching a lot of anime so this character I created is very much inspired by my favorites, like Inosuke from Demon Slayer and Naruto Uzumaki.”
