[LISTEN] Javi Jimenez – “Runaway Baby”

Indie-pop artist, Javi Jimenez, has returned with another killer new single, “Runaway Baby.”

Described as “a middle finger to your ex,” “Runaway Baby” offers a plethora of the emotions that ensue after a breakup from a rather toxic relationship – from pure sadness to vengeful anger. Meant to be played at maximum volume, “Runaway Baby” is Jimenez’s most fiery track to date, making it an anthem for those who never find their efforts reciprocated.

Sure, it says some mean things that a mature person wouldn’t be particularly proud of saying to their ex just because they were hurt. But I feel like that’s also the beauty in this song, because the mature person still feels those things, they just don’t say them.” shared Jimenez. “It’s not meant to be a role model of how to handle adversity, but instead it’s meant as a naked display of natural human emotions when faced with pain. Acknowledging your emotions and knowing that they are all a part of what makes us human is so powerful to be able to move on. Especially if you can process some negative feelings through an artform. Also, there’s nothing more fun than singing an ‘F you’ song with your friends on a car ride, when you all know who you’re singing about.”
