Alt-pop band, Daytime TV, have undergone a bit of a transformation since their 2022 debut album, nothing’s on but everyone’s watching. Comprised of Will Irvine on vocals, John Caddick on guitar, Naomi Boschetti on bass and Gareth Thompson on drums, this awesome foursome are ready to take on the music world by storm, and forthcoming sophomore record, Rodeo, out on February 19 just might be the catalyst. It’s about damn time.
“When you come close to losing everything, all your inhibitions disappear. You stop caring about trying to fit into a specific genre or pleasing anyone else,” shared Irvine. ‘Rodeo’ is about stepping boldly into who we really are as a band and as people. It’s an album built on energy, survival, and pure conviction.”
New offering, “Meditate,” is a shimmery neon-soaked indie-pop gem inspired by what could have been written during the haze of a heatwave.
“Written during a heatwave, ‘Meditate’ is a nostalgic look back at what could have been. A chance missed, the ‘what if’ of THAT relationship. Maybe we could’ve done better. Everything was there for us but we let it pass us by and now our lives have gone in different directions. Dreaming about how life would’ve been different if things had worked out, then snapping back to the present day reality to “meditate & medicate” which is what I was prescribed to reset my nervous system at the time we wrote the song.”
