It’s been a while since we last heard from electronic duo, By An Ion. As times get tough, it’s always important to find catharsis in music, and that’s exactly what the band has unleashed for us with new track, “Vestiges.”
Featuring vocals from Laura Levenhagen, “Vestiges” takes on a haunting, cinematic vibe set to a tale of finding hope after once falling through a cloud of despair. Self-produced and written by the band and mixed mastered by The New Division’s John Kunkel, “Vestiges” is a beacon of light during these trying times.
“‘Vestiges’ was written during very difficult period in my life,” shared Alex Gonzales. “I came across Laura Levenhagen through some of my peers in San Diego. I’ve always had an affinity for the female voice and when I first heard Laura, I knew I wanted to work with her. I reached out to her and she agreed and we decided to meet up. The chemistry was instant; we both were sitting at a time where we both were exiting these long term relationships that were very painful and full of despair. The song is about a home, a foundation built by 2 people battling to keep it together.”
