[Daily Discovery] Superbloom

RIYL: Teenage Wrist, The Pretty Reckless, PVRIS

London-based contemporary alt-rock duo, Superbloom – comprised of Robert James and Sam Lidington – are bringing back the sounds of ’90’s alternative that have shaped not only the band, but their core fanbase as well. With only three singles under their belt – with the third, “Paper & Stone,” out today being a charm – we think it’s safe to say that there is no stopping these two.

Like a lot of artists launching their careers in the midst of a pandemic, Superbloom have been at the top of their game when it comes to social media promotion, leading fans to their corner of the music world one post at a time.

New track, “Paper & Stone,” is a thought-provoking gem that will put Superbloom at the forefront of your mind, and at the top of your playlists!

“‘Paper & Stone’ is our third single; an alternative rock song that flaunts influences from grunge and blues-rock; genres that molded the upbringing of the band’s core membership. The emotive vocals and lyrics ditch the conventions of typical song-writing, applying metaphorical meaning to a profound theme: the perceived image of human ‘perfection,’ generated by today’s mainstream media. The video was filmed in a warehouse in London. It involved three musicians, a man with a camera, some flashing lights, a paint gun and a mask. With this, we attempted to create a visually stimulating piece of work that portrayed the message of the song in an abstract way.”
