[Daily Discovery] Cam M.

RIYL: Vaeda Black, Billie Eilish, Melanie Martinez

Alt-pop songstress, Cam M., is sure to delight. The singer’s middle finger anthem, “Karma,” is a haunting take on a situation we’ve all encountered from time to time: haters and their gossip.

After taking stock of the people in her life and making some adjustments, “Karma” serves as a response to that time in her life, and a rather empowering one at that. Dark-pop at it’s finest, “Karma” is a telling tale of being mindful of your actions and the consequences that may ensue.

“I wrote this song after finding out about a false rumor that had caused me to lose a lot of my friends. Although the person who spread the rumor was trying to take people away from me, we actually ended up coming together over bad experiences with her a year later. This song is about how manipulating others can backfire and leave you lonelier than the people you tried to hurt.”
