The one thing I love about being Canadian is that we have such passionate musicians up here that make some quality music. One of these bands, without a doubt is a little Canadian rock group by the name of Arkells. These Hamilton boys have been putting out music since 2007 and they’ve been taking the alt-rock world by storm since then. One of my favorite albums so far is their most recent release, High Noon. I’ve been listening to High Noon constantly this month because it’s just the perfect August album. You can’t hold still while listening to it (believe me, I’ve tried). It has a lineup of songs that will keep you dancing all night and singing all day. If you are looking for a band with a crisp sound, killer lyrics and an amazing vocalist, leave it to Arkells to fill that silent void of yours. A few good tracks to start out with are probably “Leather Jacket” and “Dirty Blonde” from the album High Noon and of course the title track from their second album, Michigan Left! I also can’t forget my most favorite song “I’m Not The Sun” from their first full-length album, Jackson Square. It’s a little slower, but still a great song to relax to.
Arkells also just released a new music video for the song “11:11” so be sure to check that out below!
