[Song Of The Day] New York Movie – “Firecracker”

There’s nothing I respect more than artists who are unapologetic about the music they create. Cinematic synth-rock duo, New York Movie – comprised of longtime friends Austin Jones and Philip Anderson Edsel – set out to make music without compromise or regret. Deriving from their experiences with modern love, the band created an epic well-crafted, synth-driven 80’s soundtrack that mirrors the highs and lows of a relationship, or lack thereof. Think: Peter Gabriel meets M83 but with a sassy hint of St. Lucia thrown in there for good measure.
