[Review] All Hail The Silence – ‘AHTS-1’

Alone, electronic gods BT and Christian Burns are forces to be reckoned with, but together as All Hail The Silence, that force cannot be contained. It’s been over four years since the duo released teaser track, “Looking Glass,” and needless to say, it’s been too damn long!

At last, the duo have unleashed their first EP – a four-track masterpiece clocking in just under 30 minutes that ventures into the trials of love and the bittersweet confusion that comes with it set to an epic 80’s soundtrack that strangely enough sounds like the future. That notion is evident right away with opening track, “The Alarm.”

“Broken Satellite” starts off as a dream but slowly builds up into an explosive, emotional meteorite perfect for those long night drives meant to clear your head while fan favorite, “Looking Glass,” takes on a new dynamic, making me quite wistful over who I was when I first heard the song back in 2012 while marveling over how far I’ve come. No looking glass could have prepared me for the events that have unfolded.

Closing out the journey is “Time” – a chilling cliffhanger if there ever was one. An exquisite example of music finding it’s way to the listener in need at just the right time, this is probably the EP’s stand-out track as it exhibits the pain of love lost and the looming question of one’s future lingering among us.

There’s no doubt that this release was worth the four year wait. But we guess that’s what happens when you let the best in the game team up.

EP available now here.
