[Pick Of The Week] More Giraffes – “Basement”

Indie-pop duo, More Giraffes, is the new project from musicians Mark Hadley and Keeley Bumford (also known as Dresage) that dives right into the pair’s shared passion for futuristic pop and internet culture.

Debut track, “Basement,” is as colorful as it’s single cover, conjuring up images of cat GIFs and and side-eye memes for days! While both artists currently have active careers in songwriting and production, both have turned to More Giraffes as more of an artistic playground that we hope stays around for a long time. Think: Purity Ring meets Lorde meets CHVRCHES.

“‘Basement’ is our version of chill pop, complete with original synth sounds and pitched up vocal samples. The song is about the beauty of being loved even when you’re a belligerent hot mess heading straight for a shame spiral.”
