Dark Waves: It’s His Party and He’ll Cry If He Wants To

Here’s something for the brooding & brokenhearted.

Dark Waves, project of singer-songwriter Nick Long, may remind you of The Neighbourhood and Maudlin Strangers but don’t write him off just yet. There’s more to this than meets the eye. Dark prose loomed with gloomy synths and unbridled truths will have you cryptically quoting lines on Tumblr in no time. No shame here.

After the release of his debut self-titled EP in 2014, Dark Waves has become a sort of buzzed-about enigma. Fitting for the chosen aesthetic and lyrical content. Single “I Don’t Wanna Be In Love” captures the harrowing moments of unrequited love, loss and utter heartbreak. There’s no hiding despair when you’re thrown into the gutter, and this collection will gladly sit on the floor with you until you’re ready for air.

Dark Waves’ self-titled EP is available now HERE.
