[WATCH] LANY – “Good Guys”

A new LANY era is upon us and we couldn’t be more excited! Today marks the release of “Good Guys” – the band’s first single off of their upcoming third album, Mama’s Boy, due out on Interscope Records this year.

Wistful, haunting and heart-wrenching, “Good Guys” and it’s accompanying video tells the tale of singer Paul Jason Klein’s luck, or lack thereof, with romance. “Good Guys” doesn’t stray too far from the band’s signature, dreamy sound, but fans will notice a shift as they’ve added in elements of Americana and country; the video displaying Klein going back to his roots on a farm.

“Someone asked me where I was from and somewhere, out of my spirit, I just said ‘Man, I’m from Oklahoma!’ It was a weird sense of pride, to be from the middle of nowhere,” he says, knowing full well that he needed to implement his roots and his home into this next album.

“As soon as you say ‘I love spending time with you’ to someone, they figure something out and they’re not interested anymore,” Klein shared of the song’s meaning. “It’s like a challenge. You accomplish the task of getting someone to like you and they move on.”
