Alt-pop duo, joan, have dazzled us once again with a new track from the band’s forthcoming album, this won’t last forever – due out later this year.
New track, “body language,” is an upbeat gem focused on the euphoria of a new connection, infusing the band’s signature indie/alt-pop freshness while the track’s accompanying video is a blast from the past with a Windows 95 throwback!
“It’s about meeting someone and wanting to learn everything about them—literally being a student of who they are. Learning their personality, their quirks, their ‘language.’ This song started on Instagram — we found this artist named Shane Becker while doomscrolling one day. He’s a brilliant producer out of New Jersey who never releases any music—just 30-second clips on socials—but they are INSANE. We reached out to him that day to see if he’d want to work on something, and that idea became ‘body language.’”
joan is set to support Bloc Party later this month for the band’s 20th anniversary tour. Dates and tickets here.
