[Pick Of The Week] Stay Lunar – “Metro Song”

Bristol, UK’s Stay Lunar are gearing up for the release of their next EP, The Middle of the End, due out late spring.

New track, “Metro Song,” is a lovely reminder of why we love these guys as they demonstrate their signature way of delivering infectious dreampop with a message.

Delving into a harrowing experience for singer Harry Leigh in 2023, “Metro Song” sees the singer lean on his bandmates during a moment of panic, culminating in not only a life-changing experience for the band in Paris but a focus on mental health and healthy, safe connections.

“‘Metro Song’ was written in the aftermath of our visit to Paris a couple of years back,” shares Harry. “I was experiencing particularly bad anxiety at the time and didn’t think I was going to make it through the gig – but everyone pulled together to support me as best as they could and help me get through the show. It’s a bit of a theme in the EP, but we tried to capture the calm/chaos/calm feeling of anxiety in this track, while maintaining a positive feel as ultimately the track exists because of a success story.”
