[Pick Of The Week] Heavenward – “Choke”

Heavenward – the project of Kamtin Mohager (Chain Gang of 1974, ex-Teenage Wrist) – has returned with another single off of his forthcoming debut album, Pyrophonics, and it’s definitely a keeper…but you already knew that!

“Choke” delves into the fear we have when deciding to exit a situation that may be unhealthy for us, despite how we may cherish this connection. It was one of the first ideas Mohager had for the record and the last track off of Pyrophonics.

“‘Choke’ was one of the first ideas that I had written for the album. The song focuses on the struggles that came with leaving behind something that was very important to me. I think we, as humans, sometimes fear the repercussions of leaving an unhealthy relationship solely based on the struggles that come with starting over again. I had to face a lot of new realities after making these certain changes in my life.”

Pyrophonics is set to be released on June 16 via Mohager’s own label, Fever Ltd. Pre-order here!
