[Pick Of The Week] Broods – “Peach”

The wait for the next chapter of Broods is over! The indie-pop sibling duo are back with new track, “Peach,” with a lot to celebrate and be grateful for.

After being dropped from their US label, Capitol Records, the duo found themselves in limbo on what to do next, turning the question of where to take their third record into a stressful and terrifying ordeal. When times get tough for the greats, there’s only one thing to do: pour it into your art.

Luckily, everything worked out for the New Zealand duo as New York City-based boutique label, Neon Gold Records – co-founded by MS MR‘s Lizzy Plapinger and Derek Davies – came to the rescue. Fans can expect to hear a new Broods record – tentatively titled Don’t Feed The Pop Monster – in early 2019, but today, we get a little tasty tidbit in the form of “Peach.”

“We both have pretty bad anxiety problems,” shared Caleb Nott to NZ Herald. “[Peach] is about just celebrating being good. When you just feel really fine. Not over the top good, or really low.”

“Every emotion just comes at us like full war,” says Georgia Nott. “There are rare moments where you’re just like, ‘Oh, I think I’m content right now.'”
