[Pick Of The Week] BAXTR – “Bloom”

There’s nothing we love more than featuring a debut single from an emerging band with such a promising future!

Alt-pop London trio, BAXTR, encapsulate the true meaning of girl power! Unsigned (but that’s bound to change) and DIY, BAXTR – comprised of Floss Mackintosh, Bash Powers, and Keiko Jackson – are ready to take over the world as they emerge from their crystal ship in Dreamspace.

Debut single, “Bloom,” is a summery empowering anthem for anyone who has ever doubted themselves. Fans of Haim, The Aces, and MUNA will fall in love with these ladies immediately, as did we!

“This song is for anyone who ever felt they needed a little cheerleading; anyone who is doubting the arrival of their own personal summer; anyone who has ‘something to say, something to do.’ It’s about rooting for someone you care about and watching that someone come into their own,” shared the band.

“The chorus lyric ‘I wanna see you Bloom’ was originally inspired by a young media intern and her impressively indomitable spirit. I (Floss) struck up a friendship with her and we got into the habit of sharing details of our small daily wins with one another. I got a lot of vicarious joy from just being a bystander and friend, watching her dreams edge closer. We wanted the song to feel like a sonic representation of that experience; getting excited by someone’s potential to help themselves, and their triumphs that lie ahead.”
