Singer-songwriter, Kate Voegele, has been dazzling listeners for almost two decades and she doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. She first broke through in 2007 with her debut album, Don’t Look Away, which then led to a recurring role on One Tree Hill as Mia Catalano where her music became intricately woven into the series.
Since then, the singer has released an impressive body of work that she will honor this fall on her Then & Now Tour, leading up to her newest forthcoming album, Age of Alchemy, due out on November 13. You can find tickets and tour dates here.
Newest offering, “Bad Taste,” is an alt-pop autobiographical take on healing, finding your power and the satisfaction of knowing your happiness pisses off the ones who hurt you. We are so here for this level of petty meets queen energy!
“I wrote ‘Bad Taste’ about the very specific kind of satisfaction that comes from realizing someone who once had power over you doesn’t anymore. It’s about getting to the other side of a particularly shitty situation, being genuinely happy, and knowing that your happiness most likely drives that person absolutely crazy. There are a lot of things in this song that you’re probably not supposed to say out loud, which is exactly why it was so much fun to write. It’s petty, unapologetic, and probably one of the most fun songs on the album.”
