Emerging North London-based alternative/shoegaze artist, irisworm, is at a very pivotal time in an artist’s life. Today marks the release of her first single, “getting colder,” and we are so excited to see where this journey takes her.
Inspired by the Thames Valley scene of the late 80s/early 90s, irisworm offers her own take on British dream pop & shoegaze along with overseas influences of Mazzy Star and Drop Nineteens.
Fans of Hatchie and Swim School will delight in “getting colder,” a hazy track about finding escape during the fall and winter months.
“‘getting colder’ is about trying to find escape during the colder, bleaker months of the year. I wrote the track in the middle of November, when the leaves have all fallen off the trees and winter is looming ahead (a time of year I don’t tend to particularly enjoy). I wanted to write something that encompassed that feeling I get when thinking of those long nights, and the dreamy, almost liminal imagery that accompanies it.”

Irisworm a cross between Nirvana and The Cranberries with the voice echoing of Florence Welch. Love this first single.
Absolutely love this … more?????
