[LISTEN] Fading Out – “So Embarrassing”

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: the greatest thing to come out of the 2020 pandemic was music. After spending so much time in isolation, creative endeavors were born, and for Brooklyn singer/songwriter, Evan Bieber, his indie project, Fading Out, was one of those gems.

We think it’s safe to say that Bieber just released the most relatable track you will hear this week in the form of “So Embarrassing.”

“So Embarrassing” dives into that all-too-familiar feeling of being socially awkward and unsure, but in an upbeat indie meets shoegaze sort of way, which – let’s be real here – is the best and only way! The track is set to be featured on his upcoming debut album, Maybe I Thought About You Once. A glorious commentary on being self-aware, “So Embarrassing” perfectly encapsulates an overthinker’s thoughts at any given moment.

“My inspiration for the lyrics were those everyday moments where I just wanted to stop talking and run away from a conversation. The song explains different funny experiences like words coming out of my mouth the wrong way and spilling coffee on myself. ‘So Embarrassing’ is a playful take on being weird and being human.”
