[LISTEN] Alexz Johnson – “Hurt Me”

Canadian singer/songwriter & actress, Alexz Johnson, has been dazzling listeners with her heartfelt storytelling for almost two decades. On April 7th, Johnson will deliver her fifth studio album, Seasons, and first single – “Hurt Me” – is an instant classic with soul and grit.

Written and recorded remotely at her home studio during the pandemic, Seasons takes listeners on a journey through the intense grief of losing a sister to cancer to the intense joy of motherhood & beyond, making this her most personal and poignant work to date.

“Hurt Me” is a piano-driven ballad that delves into giving everything you have to someone who may be struggling with their mental health. Whether romantic or platonic, “Hurt Me” is a call to arms of sorts with a kind of rare love/friendship that is hard to come by these days.

“I created this album from home and hearth to heal my grief, heal my relationship with music, and regain the confidence to remember why I started doing this in the first place,” shared Alexz. “There is a reason in the seasons of your life.”

Alexz is set to hit the road this spring! Tour dates and tickets HERE!
