Smoke Season have unveiled yet another gripping video in their Ouroboros series for “Emilia,” the third in the short series set to play consecutively as one film. Depicting one family’s struggle with immigration issues, the video follows a US-born teenage girl whose mother is deported.
“In this story, we wanted to present a real life human perspective on America’s immigration and deportation issues. So often we talk in hypotheticals when discussing our governmental policies regarding deportation of undocumented workers which leads people to take on a colder perspective. However, when we are forced to see a real face, family or person behind the hypothetical, like in this video, we have a different emotional response to the policy.
