Ahhh, the lyric video. While some have become somewhat monotonous over the years of its rising popularity, others have proved themselves with just the right visuals to keep us interested; Coin‘s newest addition for “Atlas” does just that. Echoing a Neon Trees-meets-Two Door Cinema Club-meets Walk The Moon vibe, the video mirrors the album’s white aesthetic, sharing a photo album of a couple’s best times during the, let’s just say it, worst. Something I’m sure we’ve all grappled with sometime.
I am hereby stating that this is the summer of Coin. The band just released their self-titled debut album this month and are heading out on the road with Neon Trees this summer. The marketing tools should only get stronger from here on out, so whether you’re a fan of the ever-growing lyric video or not, there’s no denying that strong tunage beats out all of the industry minutiae tenfold.
