This has been a stellar day for Arkells fans as the band announced plans for their forthcoming fourth album, Morning Report, due out August 5 via Last Gang Records. New single and killer star-studded video for “Private School” premiered at THE FADER today to which they perfectly described it as, “like watching a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the making of Gossip Girl.”
The video features fellow Canadian musicians Steve Jocz of Sum 41 (who also directed the clip), Tokyo Police Club’s Dave Monks and our favorite here, LIGHTS.
Frontman, Max Kerman stated:
“Many of the songs are inspired by friends and family: I have a lot of interesting characters in my life and take a lot of joy in being able to write about them. A lot of songs start from what happened the night before – that’s where the title comes from: friends who text the next day and demand ‘Give me the morning report!’” Max continues, “this is our weirdest, funniest, saddest record yet, and therefore, our most honest one, too.”
