[Song Of The Day] Haerts – “Everybody Here Wants You”

As if the original Jeff Buckley version didn’t turn me into a giant pile of mush (while destroying me in the process) – Brooklyn’s Haerts have released a cover of the 90’s Buckley hit today, giving it their signature synthpop vibe and a whole lot of heavy feels for a little over four minutes. Needless to say, it was hard to contain myself.

This song has always reminded me of a certain someone while being in a crowded, dark room with them – him unaware I was even there; me scared to know if he’d even care. “I’m only here for this moment” captures just the short amount of time you can be somewhere and have it feel like everything is closing in on you; feeling so small in a sea of people who, without a doubt, all want the same thing, or in this case, person. Beautifully done, Haerts gives this track a modern boost that is sure to be played on repeat as much, if not more, than the original.

“I know everybody here wants you. I know everybody here thinks she needs you. I’ll be waiting right here just to show you how our love will blow it all away.”

“Everybody Here Wants You” is available now along with previously unreleased track, “Animal,” here.
