[Song Of The Day] All Saints – “One Strike”

Back in 1998, all I listened to was UK pop/R&B girl group, All Saints. Their self-titled debut album started out as an experiment, as a 10 year-old me only bought it (on cassette, mind you) because I loved debut single, “Never Ever,” but quickly turned into a full-blown obsession. I later bought the album on CD and it has been a favorite of mine since, even withstanding the teenage years when I sold most of my 90’s pop albums to traders. I’m starting to regret that decision.

Fast forward to present day and my excitement couldn’t be more palpable as the group – comprised of Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis, Nicole Appleton and Natalie Appleton – have unveiled their comeback single, “One Strike,” with a new album, Red Flag, on the way April 8. Sharing the notion of how life can change in an instant, the track speaks volumes in true All Saints fashion, proving that while things do change, even greater things always stay the same.

I literally feel like I’m in the 5th grade again!
