[Playlist] Something To Sleep To

There’s something to be said for those nights of restlessness. I find that in my darkest hour, I feel the most alive – despite how painful it may be. Though I don’t have the privilege of having someone special to hold me at night when things get rough, I can always count on music to sing me to sleep. Whether you’re a night owl or one of those lucky folks who can knock out the second you hit the pillow, this playlist is for you.

Michelle Branch‘s “Something To Sleep To” has been one of those go-to songs for comfort. Her debut album, The Spirit Room, changed how I listened to (and viewed) music as a whole when I was 13. “You give me something to sleep to at night,” is a lyric that often runs through my head whenever I can’t sleep and need that muse. Garbage‘s “Sleep” has always been my favorite b-side of theirs and now that it is officially available and ready to be performed live (be still, my heart) I am just over the moon! Of course a playlist about sleep wouldn’t be complete without DWNTWN‘s “Blankets” to keep you warm…or cold. Kye Kye‘s “Dreams (2AM)” started a fire in me the first time I heard it in early 2014 and has become quite painful to listen to as I’ve previously mentioned here, but overall, a great track to get lost in.

If you’re up all night, I feel you. Press play for comfort.
