[Playlist] Everybody Here Wants You

You’ve been there before. The dramas of unrequited love. The pain of watching the one you love be with somebody else. If you haven’t experienced such unfortunate luck, I hate you. Quite frankly, I am tired of such nonsense since I have put up with it for the majority of my life. It always happens to be the person everyone wants, too so any kind of genuine connection you try to make with said person is automatically (and unfortunately) taken as something out of the “fangirl” category or something like it. Tonight’s playlist dives into the pains of always being the one in love (or like) without being loved.

I’m quite partial to Haerts‘ cover of Jeff Buckley’s “Everybody Here Wants You,” as it expresses everything with a punch better than the original, in my opinion. You’ll notice the longing has started to fade once Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “When I Needed You” and Selena Gomez‘s “Same Old Love” come in while Banks ends our sap fest with “Under The Table,” crooning, “Please tell me that this could be easy / I’m tired of waiting for permission to love.” Clearly, a mustard seed of hope is still alive.
