[Pick Of The Week] HAERTS – “The Way”

The best way to describe a HEARTS song is to imagine yourself soaring above lush greenery as your hair blows in the wind as you ultimately find yourself at peace. Then of course, walking through a snow-laden city with their tunes in your headphones is nice too.

After a killer run on Michelle Branch’s summer Hopeless Romantic tour, the New York duo are gearing up for the release of their anticipated sophomore record due out in early 2018, thus gifting us with new track, “The Way.” Following previous single releases, “Your Love” and “No Love For The Wild,” “The Way” was produced by friend and St. Lucia mastermind Jean-Philip Grobler and features Nini Fabi’s signature soaring vocals on top of partner Benjamin Gebert’s rousing musicianship.

“‘The Way’ was one of the last songs we wrote for the new album. This album is ultimately about love, which I think always contains pain and beauty, as well as a transformational power,” Fabi shared with Gorilla vs. Bear. “‘The Way’ is about this powerful, mystical intangible. Some deep ancient knowledge in our DNA – impossible to explain, but that which takes away fear and gives strength, even though nothing is permanent.”
