A year after the release of her infectious debut album, Sit Still, Look Pretty, pop songstress Daya is back with a fresh take on her already massive sound with “New.” The singer described the track as “a new beginning” and a deeper look into her honest self after falling for someone she thought she’d be better without.
A vulnerable take on the notion of hiding your emotions for someone, “New” opens the conversation of how we approach relationships in 2017 and how our actions and hesitations are hindering us from finding something substantial.
The singer is now signed to Interscope, making this her first major label release.
