[Pick Of The Week] Garbage – “Empty”

Garbage is back and they’ve arrived with a bang! As if we didn’t already predict that.

Today the band premiered first single, “Empty,” off of their forthcoming sixth studio album, Strange Little Birds, out June 10 via the band’s own label, STUNVOLUME, on CA’s KROQ – bringing the art of song premieres back to basics when the only way to hear new music from your favorite bands was to turn on the radio! Coming from a music writer, that’s actually really refreshing.

Like always, the band doesn’t shy away from raw emotion, and “Empty” encompasses everything I’ve personally been feeling for the past year, putting all of those lost thoughts into a well-crafted, edgy alt-rock gem that’s reminiscent of their 1995 self-titled debut. I’ll be quoting this one for quite some time, folks. You’ve been warned.
