[Listening Party] The Maine – ‘Covers (Side A)’

For all of us 90’s kids out there, this is huge and incredible news. Arizona alt-rockers, The Maine, just released a bombshell of a singles collection – all of them coming from the good ol’ days of the 90’s. I’m never getting tired of saying that The Maine never disappoints with any kind of material they have released.

With a hint of old school nostalgia, The Maine hit the nail right on the head with these tracks. Opening up with New Radicals’ classic “You Get What You Give” featuring Brennan Smiley from The Technicolors, the band shows what they’re made of and their amazing talent to cover any style of tunes. Next up, with help from Mayday Parade’s Derek Sanders comes LEN‘s “Steal My Sunshine” which was warm welcomed with this simple yet hilarious music video.

Making up to the perfect closure, comes one that personally represents all the feels for me. Not only is this one of my favourite songs from one of my all time favorite boybands in the history of boybands, hearing the Backstreet Boys’ “As Long As You Love Me” in the style of The Maine is everything I needed to hear, yet I didn’t know I needed. The band owned the song, respected their essence and turned it into something Maine worthy.

Enjoy these covers and let’s go back to the 90’s!
