Listening Party: Midnight Faces – ‘The Fire Is Gone’

It was one year ago today that I stumbled upon Midnight Faces‘ fantastic sophomore record, The Fire Is Gone, on Spotify. The duo has questionably remained under the radar until this past month when I heard single, “Hold Tight,” in a commercial for Cotton, no less. This album was my security blanket throughout most of the summer of 2014. I can’t explain it, but it brought me hope; hope that I was still alive and willing to fight for what I wanted. It accompanied me through long night drives, unbearable heat waves, and a trip down memory lane that I still can’t stop wandering down. With this album, I learned that the fire isn’t gone.
